The Personal Learning Goals (PLG) Assessment lets students rate their own confidence against each of your program's learning outcomes, commit to a personal goal and reflect on where they stand - at three points in the program: a Pre-assessment (baseline), one or more Check-ins (progress), and a Post-assessment (final reflection). This page includes three guides: creating the assessment, analyzing an individual student's results, and how the student completes it.
Before you start: the assessment measures your program learning outcomes, so at least one learning outcome must already exist in the program. If none do, you'll see "This program has no learning outcomes yet. Define some before students can use this assessment."
Where: Program → Learning Journey → Add Topic (top bar).

The Assessment picker: Personal Learning Goals vs Individual Competencies
This immediately creates the assessment "wrapper" with three stages already in place — Pre-assessment, Check-in, Post-assessment — and automatically attaches the program's existing learning outcomes. You adapt what is pre-filled rather than building from scratch.

Title & description of the overall assessment.
Assessed Learning Outcomes — add, remove, or reorder which program outcomes are measured. The same outcome set applies to all three stages.
Stages — edit each stage's title and description, Add another check-in, remove any stage while unscheduled, or temporarily hide a stage (eye icon).
Questions — open a stage's View Details by clicking on it. Each stage has a default confidence rating. In the Pre-assessment there is also a default personal goal. You can add, edit, and delete the ordinary questions (types: text, scale, inverse-scale, voice memo). For each question you can choose to relate it either to your program learning outcome or to the student's personal learning goal. This way the student will be able to see either the outcome or the learning goal when they are writing their reflection.
Every question is asked once per learning outcome (3 questions × 2 outcomes = 6 student slides); a max ~30 recommendation is shown.
